Engineer with a master's degree (M.Sc.) and more than 30 years of experience in the oil refining industry. A versatile professional focused on safe facility operations, quality and meeting objectives. Throughout his career at PDVSA he led process engineering, unit start-ups and refining optimization, ultimately serving as General Manager of the El Palito Refinery. Postgraduate degree in Gas, Petroleum and Petrochemicals (Metropolitan University – French Petroleum Institute).

Trayectoria

  • General Manager — El Palito Refinery, PDVSA (2014–2017): overall leadership of one of the country's main refineries.
  • Deputy Refinery Manager (REP), PDVSA (2007): implementation of mechanical and human reliability plans; leadership of scheduled plant shutdowns and occupational safety and hygiene strategies.
  • Operations Manager — Puerto La Cruz Refinery, PDVSA (2003): operational coordination and training of operators and engineers.
  • Start-Up Leader — Reforming, Hydrotreating and Sulfur units, Valcor Project, RPLC (2000–2002); leader of the process stream valorization project (optimization of naphtha, kerosene and diesel).
  • Process Engineering Leader — SISOR multiple crude loading and receiving system project, RPLC (1995–1996); conversion supervisor and FCC feed optimization.
  • Process Engineer — Puerto La Cruz and San Roque Refineries, PDVSA (1990–1992): JET-A1 optimization, solvent extraction, paraffin plants and process simulation.
